Telepathy between humans MAY not be that far fetched according to scientists. They’re trying to develop a mechanism similar to how cochlear implants work to help deaf people now. Someone with a set of electrodes in their auditory cortex could get sensations of sound…even though there were no physical vibrations of the air.
Its similar to when you listen to music or podcasts on your headphones. If you play sound on headphones, that’s a very different way of hearing those specific sounds because humans haven’t evolved hearing sounds that way.
For this mechanism to work, a HUGE amount of computing power would be required..like REALLY big. Think about ALEXA. The reason it works is because everything we say gets sent off to a GIGANTIC computer that’s remembering EVERYTHING it’s ever heard. So if scientists can find a way to put that kind of storage space in your ear…. It just might be possible.
As a matter of fact, the military has been hard at work making it a reality. What they’re working on will allow soldiers to control unmanned aerial vehicles while wearing a headset. If it is successful, there could be tests of brain-controlled military drones possibly within five years.
