There are parks in Philadelphia that have installed “High-pitched” noise makers that play all night.
Officials say it’s to keep the young kids out of the parks in the later hours of the night. The noise can only be heard by young teens and adults up to 25 years old. The theory is that the noise is so loud and obnoxious that the younger crowds wont be able to tolerate the frequency and will stay out.
This has a few people upset saying that it is discrimination against young people.
The city had installed these noise makers in 30 parks so far and they cost about $5,000.
