A 19-year-old Florida man, Robert Torres, told police he shut off the power to a Dunkin Donuts and attempted to rob it because he was, “tight on money,” according to the arrest records.

Torres used an outside breaker to turn off the power at an Oldsmar Dunkin Donuts around 12 a.m. on Saturday. When employees exited the store due to the power outage, Torres confronted them, using pulled up t-shirt to cover part of his face. One of the employees began screaming when Torres said they were being robbed, gave him the keys and ran to a vehicle in the parking lot.

After his arrest, Torres admitted he was trying to get into two safes inside the store, but couldn’t get them open. Torres was arrested and charged with grand theft, burglary and robbery by snatching.
