Well, after close to 17 years of service, the Delta IV will launch one final time. This time it will be carrying the second GPS system “III satellite” for the U.S. Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center.
The weather on the coast looks promising, say Air Force Weather officials, with an 80% chance of pretty good launch conditions. It gives them a 27- minute launch window which will open at 9 a.m.
The main concern is possible rain and cloud cover. Conditions could worsen a little bit if the launch gets delayed to Friday.
