A new study out of Sweden states that when you feel stressed out, your dog is stressed. They studied 58 people that had Collies or Shetland Sheepdogs and they paid attention to their hair in particular. The measured the cortisol levels in both the human and the dog. Cortisol is a chemical your body releases through the bloodstream when you’re Stressed. Canines have cortisol, as well. Researchers discovered that when humans were stressed and their cortisol levels went up, so did the levels in the dogs.
The reason your dog will be stressed if you are is because YOU are their only emotional line they have. Unlike humans, dogs only have their owners to feed off of emotionally. Humans however, have friends, family, co-workers, etc.
Next time you feel a little stressed, it’s likely your dog will show the same signs.
