DAYTONA BEACH — Wide Open Fun.
Area tourism leaders are betting that a marketing campaign built on those three little words will entice more visitors to vacation in Daytona Beach. The slogan is the brainchild of the Brandon Agency, a Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, marketing firm contracted to promote the area as a tourist destination by the Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The new catchphrase was approved last week by the board of directors of the Halifax Area Advertising Authority, which funds and oversees the Daytona Beach CVB. The board selected the new slogan and campaign theme over two other candidates: “Dare to Daytona Beach” and “Vacation Outside the Lines.”
